Youth Leadership Program

Our Youth are Leaders!

The BOTS Youth Leadership Program, creating leadership development opportunities for young people of colour who are supported and mentored by their community. Youth will learn how to host a large event, develop their soft skills and create community networks that will support them as they move forward.  You also experience welcome and belonging in the Waterloo Region community that affirms and celebrates your  own unique identity.

Develop your leadership to the next level!

You are a youth who wants to learn more about being a leader in your community.  You are willing to be part of a fun and dynamic team that will learn about how to bring your best as an individual and a group. You will learn collaboration skills, project management, team work, networking, and lots lots more. Our job is to help you shine!

What do you need to apply? Passion – and time to to meet amazing people from your community, and to put on an incredible event! Our ideal candidate is between the age of 16 and 29, lives in Waterloo Region and is interested in Africa and in our local community.

You will get on the job training, as well as mentoring and support from diverse community leaders as well as an amazing resume experience. You don’t have to be African to apply – but you do need to be interested to volunteer with us!

Bring on the Sunshine has been running its Youth Leadership Program, focused on providing a leadership opportunity for young people of colour offered by the African community. If you are interested in being part of the next cohort, please send us an email at admin@old.bringonthesunshine.ca.

We also work very hard to empower young, diverse and newcomer youths to find their voice and develop their leadership abilities within the community here in Waterloo Region. (ask us about Africa Camp and our schools program!)
